Demo Applications

These demos, fully designed, developed and tested by us at Vermont Web Wizard, are actual live data driven sites. Although the businesses are false, all functionality and data active and live. They are provided to give you a basic view of our work with PHP and a MySQL database. For more examples of our work visit our portfolio.

• Auction Finder - This demo is of a database application that holds information about Antique auctions that are going on around the country. Users may search the database by state, date, items in the auction and distance from the as calculated by zipcode comparisons. You can peruse this demo as a user or as the Administrator of the site. In a production setting the administration functions would be protected by a password setup but for the purposes of this demo, we've left it wide open.

• Site Personalization - In order to entice visitors to return, many sites will automatically personalize their appearance and behavior to the wishes of their customers. This small demo allows you to chanage the background and text colors of this website.

• Seminar Registration - This is a demo of an online seminar registration system for ACME Party Balloons, a fictional company which sells balloons. Their latest marketing strategy is to give seminars on balloon animals. Hopefully the clown guild will give them their stamp of approval. You can peruse this demo as a user or as the Administrator of the site. In a production setting the administration functions would be protected by a password setup but for the purposes of this demo, it has been left open so you can see the system from both the user and administrator points of view.

• RSS News Feed Reader - RSS which is short for RDF Site Summary, is a news headline syndication system. Essentially a website owner can publish their headlines in a standard XML format that you can access and publish on your website.

• Browser / Screen Size - One of the reoccuring topics of discussion among website designers is what the current common screen resolution is and how wide/tall do people have their browsers set? This demo takes data gathered from users of our website (including you) and shows what we have seen for screen resolutions and browser sizes.
